National Call Out Corruption

Crucial lobbying reform legislation will soon be voted on. It's not too late to place your call to your Senators TODAY and urge them to enact REAL REFORM!

The U.S. Senate recently shelved the debate over lobbying reform legislation. Call your Senators and let them know this issue matters to you. Everything you need to make these calls is immediately below.

There are two switchboard phone numbers you can use to call your Senators: 877-762-8762 (toll free), or 202-224-3121

Here are the two key talking points for when you make your calls:

1) Congress needs to cut the connection between lobbyists, politicians and campaign money, and enact tough restrictions and bans against lobbyist fundraising for politicians. Mere disclosure is not sufficient, and bans on privately-funded travel and lobbyist gifts, while very important, are not sufficient if lobbyists can raise or bundle tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars for the same politicians they are lobbying.

2) A new, tough, professionally staffed and independent enforcement watchdog needs to be created. In the midst of all this scandal and members being investigated, indicted and even resigning, the House and Senate ethics committees have not launched a SINGLE investigation. This is absurd, and unacceptable. No new reform laws will be effective without a new enforcement watchdog independent of the political pressures of Congress.

Once you have made these calls,   please click here to let us know. We also invite you to share with everyone how the calls went by posting a note on our Clean Up Washington blog.

Thank you so much for making the calls, and for joining our campaign to take our government back from the special interests!
